In my opinion, helicopters are almost as much fun as a roller coaster. So every chance we get when on vacation, we'll spend the better part of our budget on a helicopter ride.
What better place than the Grand Canyon?
After a short trip above the trees in the Kaibob National Forest, our altitude being just a little higher than the Park Ranger's Lookout station, we came to the edge of the canyon and watched the land "fall away" to reveal the beauty and depth of this colorful and wondrous gorge.
As we neared the center of the canyon, we could see the Colorado River - a muddy brown color in the summer months and clear in the winter.
We had a little excitement when the 'copter swerved to avoid hitting a bald eagle-so that worked out well for all concerned—especially the eagle.
