Visit the Paxton Sculpture Studio online to see the finely detailed figurative sculptures in bronze and terra cotta in classical style by artist George Paxton. George teaches at the Vero Beach Museum of Art too, so learn to sculpt with clay in one of his classes.
ArtsyWebDesign sponsors one pro-bono site each year, and the Fort Lauderdale High School Class of 1964 Reunion Website is our 2008 contribution. We're collecting Then & Now photos of alumni and the old "stomping ground"—Fort Lauderdale Beach & everybody's favorite hangout - Jerry's Drive In. We have an email sign-up & news submission page, announcements of upcoming reunions & slide shows of past reunions. How 'bout that hair?

This new E-Zine is now online as IndianRiverArtNews.com. Sign up and/or submit your news at the website. Focusing on the visual arts, this newsletter notifies artists of deadlines for exhibitions and competitions; art news along the Treasure Coast; artists groups & gatherings and other opportunities for artists. |
Main Street Vero Beach now has a new executive director, Maria Kovachev, and we have re-designed & updated the website. Included are slide shows of downtown events, a tour of what to see & do in historic downtown
Vero Beach. Members have links to their websites and discounts for booth & vendor space. Mark your calendar for upcoming festivals and art & music events.
It's a work in progress, so check back often.
Richard Schlitt is the organizer of groups of teenagers and young adults who travel to help others in need with maintenance projects for their homes or school buildings. Known as Youth On A Mission, his organization is a WIN-WIN for both the kids and the recipients. Visit his website for more information and pictures of past mission trips.
Attention Jazz Lovers! The Treasure Coast Jazz Society has announced its upcoming "Jazz At Noon" series for 2008/09. Plumbago Volunteer Services is a nonprofit organization that was founded to recruit volunteers for volunteer organizations and to increase volunteerism in our community. Potential volunteers go to www.plumbagovs.net to search for volunteer opportunities that match their skills and interests. Volunteer organizations promote their volunteer opportunities on this website to attract potential volunteers.
PVS also creates exciting events that brings more awareness to volunteerism, such as "Two Plums Up" Social Hour, a networking event where local businesses showcase their products and services while supporting volunteerism in our community. Each event features and promotes an organization with volunteer opportunities.
